Things You Should Know About VIAGRA (CIALIS):

Tadacip (tadalafil)

Tadacip. is in a class of medications known as PDE-5 inhibitors, which are used to treat cases of male impotence.

Product Name: Tadacip 20mg

Drug Name: Tadalafil

Note : Brand 'Erectalis' also made by Cipla may be substituted

Indication

Tadacip is indicated for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men.

Composition

Tadacip 20
Each film-coated tablet contains Tadacip 20mg

Use

Under normal circumstances, when a man is sexually stimulated, the penis fills up with blood. When erectile dysfunction occurs, enough blood does not flow to cause an erection. TADACIP, with Cipla, relaxes the penile blood vessels when a man is sexually stimulated. This allows blood flow into the penis, resulting in an erection. The erection subsides after sex, just as it is supposed to in normal conditions. Please understand that TADACIP is not a hormone or aphrodisiac, it works only when a man is sexually stimulated.

Dosage and Administration

  • Use in adult men:

The recommended dose is 10 mg taken prior to anticipated sexual activity and without regard to food. In those patients in whom TADACIP 10 mg does not produce an adequate effect, 20 mg might be tried. Cipla may improve erectile function up to 36 hours following dosing. Therefore, when advising patients on optimal use of TADACIP, this should be taken into consideration. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once per day. Daily use of the medication is strongly discouraged because the long-term safety after prolonged daily dosing has not been established.

  • Use in elderly men:

Dosage adjustments are not required in elderly patients.

  • Use in men with impaired renal function:

No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild renal insufficiency. For patients with moderate (creatinine clearance 31 to 50 mL/min) renal insufficiency, a starting dose of 5 mg not more than once daily is recommended, and the maximum dose should be limited to 10 mg not more than once in every 48 hours. For patients with severe (creatinine clearance <30>

  • Use in men with impaired hepatic function:

For patients with mild or moderate degrees of hepatic impairment, the dose of TADACIP should not exceed 10 mg once daily. In patients with severe hepatic impairment, the use of TADACIP is not recommended.

  • Use in men with diabetes:

Dosage adjustments are not required in diabetic patients.

  • Use in children and adolescents:

TADACIP should not be used in individuals below 18 years of age.

Contradictions

Do not take Tadacip:
• If you are taking any form of organic nitrate or nitric oxide donors such as amyl nitrite. This is a group of medicines (‘nitrates’) used in the treatment of angina pectoris (‘chest pain’). Tadacip has been shown to increase the effects of these drugs. If you are taking any form of nitrate or are not sire tell your doctor.
• If you have any heart problems (e.g., angina, chest pain, heart failure, irregular heart beats, or heart attack), have ever had a stroke.
• Stomach ulcers or any types of bleeding problems.
• A deformed penis, Peyronie's disease, or ever had an erection that lasted more than 4 hours.
• If you have low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
• If you are (hypersensitive) allergic to Cipla or any of the other ingredients of Tadacip.
• Allergies to Cipla or any of the other ingredients of TADACIP tablets.
• Any blood problems, including sickle cell anemia or leukaemia.
• Any kidney problems or any liver problems.
• A rare inherited eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa.

Side Effects

Like all medicines, TADACIP (Cipla) can cause some side effects. These effects are usually mild to moderate and usually don't last longer than a few hours. Some of these side effects are more likely to occur with higher doses.

The most common side effects of Cipla are headache, flushing of the face and upset stomach. Less common side effects that may occur are temporary changes in color vision (such as trouble telling the difference between blue and green objects or having a blue color tinge to them), eyes being more sensitive to light or blurred vision. In rare instances, men have reported an erection that lasts many hours. You should call a doctor immediately if you ever have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours. If not treated right away, permanent damage to your penis could occur.

Heart attack, stroke, irregular heartbeats and death have been reported rarely in men taking Cipla. Most, but not all, of these men had heart problems before taking this medicine. It is not possible to determine whether these events were directly related to Cipla. Cipla may cause other side effects besides those listed on this sheet. If you want more information or develop any side effect or symptom you are concerned about, call your doctor.
